Cases referred include the identification of unknown bodies (single or multiple, such as those found in a disaster), dental age estimation for both dead and alive individuals for cases from various government agencies, such as PDRM, APMM, Immigration, Penjara and court, as well as Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) for late registrations of birth certificates. Medico-legal cases are also attended to by this unit, including bitemark analysis, abuse and assault, either sexual or physical.
